Cape Tribulation is part of the Daintree Rainforest region,  a unique wilderness with hidden spectacular scenery, cleverly camouflaged birds and native animals. 

Approximately 82 kilometers north of Port Douglas, Cape Tribulation offers visitors the opportunity to journey deep into the pristine rainforest, see impressive waterfalls, and possibly be lucky enough to spot Australiaís largest flightless bird - the Southern Cassowary which is an endangered species.

As part of your day trip to Cape Tribulation self drive visitors should also take the time to see The Daintree Entomological Museum. This private collection of rare and local butterflies, moths and beetles is one manís life long work, it is beautifully displayed and has taken over 40 years to establish.

 

Jungle Surfing Canopy Tours in Cape Tribulation are for the more adventurous. Transfers from your accommodation at The Newport on Macrossan are available three times a week. This award winning tour, utilizes a flying fox zip line with five platforms. Jungle surfers have a birds eye views over the treetops and out to the Great Barrier Reef.
